Examples of activities in workflow

The Navigator system enables an extensive configuration of conditions in the workflow step. From simple automatic actions to complex activities involving different departments, where the percentage of approvals for an activity is taken into account, etc. With a few examples we will show how conditions can be built in a procedure step. We will use a typical process – the circulation of the purchase invoice.

Automatic approval

The simplest case is automatic approval. In this example, it occurs when the gross value of the invoice is less than EUR 1000.

Single entity approval

The most common case is approval by one person – usually a supervisor. In this example, we have prepared this process step for purchases between EUR 1,000.00 and EUR 25,000.00. There is a second condition in the Execution Conditions section, conjunction “and” tells us that both conditions must be met. The performer has also changed.

Multi-party approval

It often happens that in addition to the approval of the superior, you need a countersignature, e.g. from an accounting department employee. You can easily do it by adding a second executor. Operator “and” tells that the step must be approved by both the supervisor and the accounting department employee. The selected criterion – anyone from the department – says that it is enough to approve the document if only one department employee approve it.

Approval by one of several entities

It is not always necessary for multiple people to approve. Sometimes one person is enough. In this example, you have two executors – the superior of the owner of the document and the superior of the person who started the workflow. The conjunction “or” tells us that it either of these people needs to approve the workflow step.
